Nvidia commits $2b to Brookfield’s AI infrastructure fund
Nvidia has committed US$2 billion to Brookfield Asset Management’s global AI infrastructure fund, according to investor documents that disclosed the size of the investment, which was previously announced without a figure.
Brookfield Asset Management, a New York-based investment firm, said last year that Nvidia and Kuwait Investment Authority were anchor investors in the fund.
The company is targeting US$10 billion for AI-related assets such as factories, behind-the-meter power systems, and compute infrastructure.
The investment is also part of a broader Nvidia-backed AI infrastructure push.
Nvidia said Brookfield is among partners building financing platforms to mobilize more than US$500 billion in third-party capital for AI compute infrastructure.
That focus on power comes as the International Energy Agency said AI is driving surging electricity demand from data centers.
