Nvidia CEO’s net worth nears $120b as shares rise on Saudi deal

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, has seen his net worth rise to about US$120 billion, an increase from US$80 billion last year.

This growth is attributed to the high demand for Nvidia’s AI chips, which has significantly boosted the company’s stock value.

Recently, Nvidia’s market capitalization reached US$3 trillion after securing a deal to supply chips to an AI startup backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

On May 13, 2025, the company’s shares closed at US$129.93, marking a 5.6% increase.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ NVIDIA’s unrivaled market dominance powers Huang’s wealth creation

Jensen Huang’s $40 billion net worth jump reflects NVIDIA’s extraordinary position in the AI semiconductor industry.

NVIDIA dominates the AI semiconductor market with an 87% market share, generating $96 billion in revenue in 2024 alone 1.

This dominance extends to the data center GPU market specifically, where NVIDIA controls 92% of the market, while competitors like AMD and Intel generate comparatively modest AI chip revenues of $4.5 billion and $500 million respectively 1.

The company’s Data Center division showcases this explosive growth trajectory, with revenue tripling from $15 billion in FY2023 to $48 billion in FY2024, and projections to exceed $100 billion in FY2025 1.

NVIDIA’s most recent quarterly results reinforce this trend, with $39.3 billion in Q4 revenue representing a 78% year-over-year increase 2.

2️⃣ Saudi Arabia deal highlights AI as critical national infrastructure

The Saudi Arabia partnership demonstrates how AI chips have become strategic assets in national economic development plans.

The deal includes shipping 18,000 advanced NVIDIA GB300 Blackwell AI supercomputers to power a massive 500-megawatt data center 3, 4.

This investment aligns directly with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy away from oil dependency through technology leadership 5, 4.
