Nvidia CEO sees robotics as key growth after AI
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that aside from AI robotics is the company’s largest potential growth market, with self-driving cars expected to be its first major commercial use case.
He made the statement during Nvidia’s annual shareholders meeting on June 26, 2025.
While robotics currently represents a small portion of Nvidia’s business, Huang noted its potential dependence on the company’s AI chips.
These chips are crucial for training and deployment in applications like self-driving cars.
He highlighted the company’s Drive platform, which has been adopted by Mercedes-Benz, and mentioned new AI models for humanoid robots named Cosmos.
Huang also shared a vision of Nvidia technology powering billions of robots, autonomous vehicles, and robotic factories in the future.
The company has expanded its portfolio to include software, cloud services, and networking chips alongside its AI chips. Analysts are forecasting nearly US$200 billion in sales for 2025.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Robotics represents a nascent but rapidly growing market for Nvidia
While Huang highlights robotics as Nvidia’s second-largest growth opportunity, the current numbers reveal its early stage in the company’s revenue mix.
Nvidia’s automotive and robotics division generated $567 million in quarterly sales (about 1% of total revenue), though it grew 72% year-over-year according to the latest earnings report.
This contrasts with the projected overall AI robotics market growth, which is expected to expand from $15.2 billion in 2023 to $111.9 billion by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate of 22.1% 1.
The industrial robotics segment currently dominates the market, particularly in manufacturing, with collaborative robots (cobots) and autonomous mobile robots experiencing significant growth across logistics and healthcare sectors 2.
For context, Nvidia’s total company revenue surged from $27 billion in fiscal 2023 to $130.5 billion last year, driven primarily by data center GPU sales for AI applications.
