Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that demand for skilled vocational workers, such as plumbers and electricians, is increasing due to the expansion of data centers supporting AI.

Huang predicted that these workers could command six-figure salaries amid a significant infrastructure buildout requiring trillions of dollars in investment.

His comments align with other industry leaders highlighting the need for physical labor in data center development.

Nvidia, a major supplier of chips for AI applications, is expected to generate nearly US$200 billion in data center chip sales in 2025, with deals extending to smaller operators.

While AI’s impact on employment remains debated, some experts warn of potential job displacement in certain sectors.
