Nvidia acquires Israeli AI startup Illumex for $60m

Nvidia has acquired Israeli AI startup Illumex for about US$60 million.

The company, founded in 2021 by Inna Tokarev Sela, developed a platform called Generative Semantic Fabric (GSF) that converts organizational knowledge into AI-ready, semantic ontologies to support enterprise AI applications.

Illumex has raised around US$13 million in seed funding from investors including Cardumen Capital, Amdocs Ventures, and Samsung Ventures.

Following the acquisition, Illumex’s team has joined Nvidia, which has been expanding its presence in Israel since acquiring Mellanox in 2019.

Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang has highlighted Israel’s importance to the company, which is building a large new campus in Kiryat Tivon to house up to 10,000 employees.
