National University of Singapore’s venture arm, NUS Enterprise, said at its A5X event in Singapore on September 24 that it had rebranded as NUSX and launched an AI tool and new overseas outposts to help commercialize university research.

NUSX said Nova, developed with Zima Labs, analyses patents, invention disclosures, and research data to identify licensing, partnership, and investment opportunities for technologies developed at NUS.

NUSX said it was establishing an outpost in Munich and planning another in Shanghai, after launching one in Silicon Valley in July 2026.

It also announced a partnership with Munich-based UnternehmerTUM, which describes itself as a center for innovation and business creation with international programs.

A5X will also host the inaugural Singapore Defense Tech Hackathon from September 25 to 27 with 300 participants. NUSX said it aimed to generate US$1 billion in financial returns from NUS ventures by 2035.
