NTT Docomo spinout Robots raises seed funding
Tokyo-based Robots Inc, a startup developing robot control software, said it raised seed funding from Incubate Fund and NTT Docomo on July 15 through a third-party share allotment.
The company will use the funds to develop its robot integrated control platform and physical AI, with security sites as its first target market.
The startup was established on May 1 and said it began operations on July 15 as a spinout from NTT Docomo’s docomo startup program.
Robots said its platform is designed to connect and control robots from different manufacturers and of different types, including quadruped robots, robotic arms, and sensors, as one system.
The company said this would support tasks such as patrols, moving over stairs and steps, and checking locks at security sites facing labor shortages.
The company said it plans to expand the platform to other work, including equipment inspection and maintenance, construction, and civil engineering.
