NTT Data, Google partner on AI-powered enterprise solutions
NTT Data has announced a global partnership with Google Cloud to develop AI-powered cloud solutions for enterprise clients across sectors including banking, retail, and healthcare.
NTT Data, a Japan-based IT services provider, said the collaboration will focus on building industry-specific AI applications and supporting cloud-native modernization using Google Cloud infrastructure.
The companies plan to co-invest in global sales and go-to-market initiatives to encourage adoption of these technologies.
NTT Data has established a dedicated Google Cloud Business Group of engineers and consultants to support implementation, and aims to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technology.
Planned solutions include tools for regulatory compliance in financial services and AI-driven customer support for hospitality, leveraging Google’s Gemini models.
This partnership builds on a previous co-innovation agreement between the two firms in Asia Pacific and follows NTT Data’s acquisition of India-based Google Cloud specialist Niveus Solutions.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Cloud providers increasingly rely on partner ecosystems to scale AI expertise amid talent shortage
NTT DATA’s massive commitment to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technology highlights the critical role of specialized expertise in AI deployment1.
This partnership model addresses a key challenge: while Google captures 17% of new AI case studies compared to Microsoft’s 45%, Google maintains the highest share of AI case studies relative to its overall cloud portfolio, indicating intense focus but limited scale1.
The acquisition of Niveus Solutions—winner of three 2025 Google Cloud Awards including “Country Partner of the Year – India”—demonstrates how established consulting firms are buying proven AI talent rather than building it internally2.
NTT DATA’s creation of a dedicated global Google Cloud Business Group with thousands of engineers represents a significant infrastructure investment to bridge the expertise gap between AI innovation and enterprise implementation.
2️⃣ Industry-specific AI solutions emerge as the next competitive battleground
The partnership’s focus on sector-specific applications—from regulatory compliance in banking to multilingual travel concierges processing 3 million monthly conversations—reflects how AI is moving beyond generic tools to targeted business solutions.
This shift is supported by broader market data showing 601 documented real-world generative AI use cases across industries, with companies like Mercedes Benz integrating AI into in-vehicle services and financial institutions using it for fraud detection3.
