NTT Data, Google Cloud expand AI partnership
NTT Data, a Japan-based IT services and consulting company, and Google Cloud said on June 9 that they were expanding their partnership to help enterprises move AI projects from pilots into production.
The expanded agreement covers regulated sectors including banking, insurance, and manufacturing.
NTT Data said it was launching a Gemini Enterprise practice with 5,000 certified experts globally.
The company also plans to develop up to 500 AI agents for cross-industry and sector-specific use cases, including finance operations, software development, retail, and cloud migration.
The move extends a relationship the companies had already expanded in Asia Pacific in November 2024, when they created a Google Cloud business unit focused on data analytics, generative AI, cybersecurity, SAP, and infrastructure.
Google said Gemini Enterprise supports at-rest data residency in US and European Union multi-regions, as well as some in-country locations, for regulated deployments.
The company added that Assured Workloads provides data-boundary, key-management, and support-access controls aligned with compliance programs.
NTT Data said the offering includes support for data residency, security, and compliance.
It also cited an NTT Data survey showing that 99% of enterprises said AI was driving greater demand for cloud investment, while 88% said current cloud investment levels were putting their AI initiatives at risk.
