North American travel app Hopper eyes $10b IPO
Hopper Inc., a Montreal-based travel tech firm, is considering an IPO that could value it at up to US$10 billion, according to CEO Frederic Lalonde.
The company, founded in 2007, offers data-driven tools for predicting prices in flights, hotels, and car rentals, and generates revenues from commissions and B2B services.
As one of the most downloaded travel apps in North America, Hopper is particularly popular among millennials and Gen Z.
Hopper has secured over US$740 million in funding from investors like Goldman Sachs, Brookfield Asset Management, and Inovia Capital.
The company is considering an IPO on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
Lalonde has expressed openness to private equity investments alongside the public listing.
