Nokia expands AI network deals with TIM Brasil, Deutsche Telekom

Nokia said it is expanding partnerships with Brazil’s TIM Brasil and Deutsche Telekom to capitalize on rising demand for AI-based network technologies.

The expansion extends a prior 5G modernization deal in São Paulo.

The TIM deal will let the operator offer AI-driven business services using Nvidia’s AI-RAN platforms, while Nokia and Deutsche Telekom said they would broaden collaboration on cloud-based, disaggregated AI-native radio access network technology.

The moves follow a multi-year Telefonica contract to supply network solutions for Spanish data centers and come as telecom operators race to upgrade networks for broader AI adoption, creating demand for equipment suppliers.

Last year, Reuters reported Nokia received a US$1 billion equity investment from Nvidia, which took a 2.9% stake, as Nokia pursues a major restructuring to focus on AI and data center demand amid weak 5G spending.
