Nio enters Thailand with Firefly brand launch

Chinese automaker Nio officially introduced its Firefly compact EV brand in Thailand with Thai importer and distributor Thonburi Blue Sky.

The move comes as the company seeks to accelerate its expansion into right-hand-drive markets.

The debut featured the Firefly smart city car, a fully electric premium compact with rear-wheel drive and a tight turning radius designed for urban maneuverability.

Ratapon Viriyaphant, chairman of the Thonburi Group, said the company aims to elevate Thailand’s EV industry by combining its extensive experience with Nio’s future-focused ecosystem and global vision.

The launch makes Thailand the second Southeast Asian market for Firefly after Singapore.
