Nexus Venture leads $4.5m round in UK-India medical travel startup

The Medical Travel Company, a medical tourism startup based in the UK and India, has raised US$4.5 million in seed funding led by Nexus Venture Partners.

Kriscore Capital, 4CAST co-founders Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, KL Rahul, and several angel investors also joined in the round.

The company plans to use the funds to expand operations in the UK and India, enhance its patient management systems, and build more clinical partnerships.

Founded by Ankit Mehrotra and Sahil Jain, former Dineout executives, The Medical Travel Company facilitates access for UK patients seeking medical treatment in India.

The startup aims to address challenges in the US$100 billion global medical tourism sector, which has been marked by fragmented services and inconsistent quality.

The Medical Travel Company plans to expand to other markets such as the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe in the next few years.
