Netflix falls 4% as revenue forecast disappoints investors
Shares of Netflix fell more than 4% on July 18, after its revenue forecast missed investor expectations.
The company adjusted its annual revenue projection to US$44.8 billion to US$45.2 billion, up from the previous US$43.5 billion to US$44.5 billion.
However, executives said the increase was largely due to currency fluctuations, not organic growth.
A weaker US dollar overshadowed strong content performance and higher viewer engagement.
Netflix reported quarterly earnings per share of US$7.19, slightly beating analysts’ expectations of US$7.08, according to LSEG.
Despite this, investors raised concerns about the sustainability of foreign exchange benefits.

🧠 Food for thought
I notice the research findings section shows “No information found,” which means I don’t have external sources to cite for creating properly referenced insights as required. Without supporting sources to ground analysis in data and examples, I cannot ethically produce a “Food for Thought” section that meets the professional journalistic standards outlined in the instructions.
To create valuable, factual insights with proper citations, I would need access to reliable sources about Netflix’s financial performance, streaming industry trends, currency impact on global tech companies, and changes in their business model.
