Nebius signs AI infrastructure deal with Meta worth up to $27b
Nebius, an Amsterdam-based AI cloud company listed on Nasdaq, announced a five-year infrastructure agreement with Meta to provide US$12.0 billion of dedicated capacity using NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform and will begin deliveries in early 2027.
Meta also committed to purchase up to US$15.0 billion of additional compute across certain upcoming Nebius clusters over five years, taking the deal’s potential value to up to approximately US$27.0 billion.
Nebius said it currently intends to sell this capacity to third-party customers, with remaining capacity to be purchased by Meta.
The company said the capacity is based on one of the first large-scale deployments of the Vera Rubin platform.
Nebius said its guidance for 2026 remains unchanged.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
The Meta agreement landed days after NVIDIA committed $2 billion
- Last week, NVIDIA said it would invest $2 billion in Nebius through a strategic partnership to help Nebius deploy more than 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity by the end of 2030 1.
- In return, Nebius gets early access to NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin platform and NVIDIA Vera CPUs, which support the Meta agreement’s planned large-scale rollout of the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform 1.
- Earlier, Nebius signed a Microsoft contract worth up to $19.4 billion in September 2025 2.
- Even so, the company remains in a high-growth, high-burn phase with a $596 million operating loss on $530 million in revenue for 2025 3.
Big tech is leaning on specialist data center builders to ease capacity crunches
- Meta’s commitment signals that even the largest tech firms are struggling to add AI capacity fast enough, despite a combined $700 billion in planned capital spending by hyperscalers including Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft 2.
- Specialist providers can sidestep power bottlenecks, including multi-year waits in power interconnection queues that stall traditional data center projects 4.
- That gap is pushing growth in the “neocloud” market, expected to expand from roughly $27 billion in 2025 to over $250 billion by 2030 5.
- The agreement also supports NVIDIA’s approach of using partners to land early, large deployments for next-generation platforms, which helps keep major customers like Meta on its full stack 1.
