Nazara Technologies has acquired a 60% stake in Funky Monkeys Play Centers for 43.7 crore rupee (US$5.01 million) through primary and secondary investments.

The company subscribed to 3.61 lakh equity shares for 15 crore rupee (US$1.72 million) and bought 6.51 lakh shares from existing shareholders for 28.7 crore rupee ((US$3.29 million).

With this, Funky Monkeys is now a subsidiary of Nazara.

Founded in 2012, Funky Monkeys operates 11 indoor play centers across India, focusing on children’s entertainment.

The acquisition, first announced in December 2024, aligns with Nazara’s expansion strategy. \

The company has been actively increasing stakes in subsidiaries like Absolute Sports and Nextwave Multimedia while planning investments in adtech and edtech.

Despite reporting record revenue of 534.7 crore rupee (US$61.37 million) in Q3 FY25, Nazara’s net profit dropped to 13.7 crore rupee (US$1.57 million) for the quarter.
