• Prosecutors focus on a 2020 to 2022 Chromebook procurement program for schools. Chromebooks are laptops that run Google’s ChromeOS operating system. They say the program caused state losses of 2.2 trillion rupiah (US$129 million) 1.
• They add US$44.05 million, around 621.4 billion rupiah, for Chrome Device Management software licenses they call unnecessary 1.
• The indictment says Nadiem Makarim wrote tender requirements that steered deals to one tech stack, with the aim to “make Google the sole controller of education ecosystem in Indonesia” 1.
• Prosecutors also allege Makarim received 809.6 billion rupiah (US$47.8 million) from PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa.
