Myntra’s chief product, technology officer resigns
Myntra’s chief product and technology officer, Raghu Krishnananda, has resigned after more than five years with the Flipkart-owned fashion ecommerce platform.
The announcement was made in an internal memo from CEO Nandita Sinha, stating that Krishnananda is leaving to “explore the next chapter of life outside of Myntra.”
Until a successor is appointed, his direct reports will report to Sinha, as noted in the memo.
The resignation comes as Myntra invests in its “M-Now” quick commerce service for 30-minute to two-hour delivery in Bengaluru.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Leadership transitions often signal strategic pivots in technology companies
Myntra’s CPTO resignation comes precisely when the company is aggressively expanding into quick commerce with its M-Now initiative, suggesting the departure may be connected to this strategic shift.
This pattern of executive departures during transformational periods is common in tech companies. Krishnananda’s exit is the second major Flipkart Group departure in two months, following Flipkart’s own CPTO resignation 1.
Executive churn often increases during strategic pivots as companies realign leadership expertise with new business directions. Myntra’s quick commerce expansion represents a significant departure from its traditional e-commerce model.
The timing is particularly noteworthy as Myntra just achieved profitability in FY24 with a net profit of INR 30.9 Cr after losses of INR 782.4 Cr the previous year, suggesting the company may be reorganizing leadership after reaching this financial milestone 2.
Parent company Flipkart’s preparation for a potential 2025-2026 IPO may also be driving leadership reorganization, as companies typically optimize executive teams before public offerings 2.
2️⃣ Quick commerce evolution beyond groceries represents the next battleground
Myntra’s M-Now initiative, offering 30-minute to 2-hour fashion deliveries, represents a significant evolution in quick commerce beyond its grocery origins 3.
This expansion comes as established quick commerce players like Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart are already expanding their SKUs into categories like fashion and lifestyle, creating a new competitive dimension 3.
Myntra’s entry is backed by substantial financial support, with Flipkart investing $81 million specifically to fuel its quick commerce expansion in November 2024, demonstrating the strategic importance of this initiative 2.
