Musk's Boring Company plans to launch Dubai Loop by 2026

The Boring Company plans to launch the Dubai Loop, an underground transit system, by Q2 2026, according to UAE minister for AI Omar Al Olama.

The first phase will include 17 kilometers of tunnels and could carry up to 20,000 passengers per hour.

The project aims to ease congestion in the fast-growing city, which has also tested air taxi services from Joby Aviation and other firms.

If completed, the Dubai Loop would join the company’s only other operational project, the Las Vegas Loop, where Tesla cars transport passengers underground.

It is not yet clear if Tesla vehicles will be used in Dubai or what technology will power the system.

Al Olama said the Loop may expand to include multiple routes, but gave no cost or future timeline details.

He also noted the UAE expects to receive high-end Nvidia AI chips before the end of 2025.
