Musk: Starlink to beam satellite service direct to phones

SpaceX acquired US$17 billion worth of wireless spectrum from EchoStar this week, aiming to expand its Starlink satellite internet services.

Elon Musk said on the All-In podcast that SpaceX plans to use the new spectrum to deliver high-bandwidth connectivity from Starlink satellites directly to phones, but noted that US carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon still control most wireless spectrum.
