Elon Musk said on X on Sunday that SpaceX, the US-based rocket and satellite company he leads, could exceed US$1 trillion in annual revenue by 2031.

He added that he would be surprised if SpaceX’s revenue were not greater than that level.

SpaceX reported 2025 revenue of US$18.67 billion, up from US$14.02 billion a year earlier, while net income swung to a US$4.94 billion loss from a US$791 million profit.

Goldman Sachs estimated SpaceX could generate more than US$470 billion in revenue in 2030, while Morgan Stanley projected nearly US$330 billion. Both forecasts are below Musk’s target.

The target is also far above current market forecasts for satellite internet, one of SpaceX’s main businesses.

MarketsandMarkets estimated the sector will reach US$33.44 billion by 2030, while Juniper Research estimated fixed satellite broadband revenue at US$20 billion.
