Moonshot AI, a China-based AI company, has launched Kimi K3.1 Pro, a 3 trillion-parameter open-weight model with a 1 million-token context window, alongside Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed, the company said.

The company said both models are now available on Kimi.ai and its other products, and it plans to release the full model weights by November 4.

Moonshot said K3.1 Pro is an upgrade to Kimi K3 and that its benchmark results showed it was close to some proprietary rivals.

On Terminal-Bench 4.0, the model scored 65.7%, compared with GPT-6 Astra’s 58.2%, and close to Claude Opus 5.5’s 66.4%, according to the company.

Moonshot also said Highspeed delivers 2x to 3x the speed of K3.1 Pro.

The planned weight release comes as Chinese open-weight AI models are winning global users.
