MicroStrategy buys 5,262 more bitcoins for $561m

MicroStrategy has acquired 5,262 bitcoins at a cost of approximately US$561 million, confirmed co-founder and executive chairman Michael Saylor.

This follows the purchase of 15,350 bitcoins the previous week.

The purchase was completed at an average price of US$106,662 per bitcoin.

Following this acquisition, the company holds a total of 444,262 bitcoins, valued at over US$40 billion.

To date, MicroStrategy has invested around US$27.7 billion in its cryptocurrency holdings.
