Microsoft has introduced a new Copilot app that combines coding, productivity, and custom AI agents, as it seeks wider enterprise adoption amid competition from Anthropic and OpenAI.

The company said the Cowork, Code, and Autopilot features will be priced based on usage rather than subscriptions. Microsoft 365 Copilot will remain priced at US$30 per user per month.

Microsoft said fewer than 7% of its more than 450 million commercial Office 365 seats were licensed for the AI add-on. A separate estimate put 15 million paid Microsoft 365 Copilot seats, suggesting adoption remains early relative to the company’s installed base.

The new Home and Code tabs will be available to companies in Microsoft’s Frontier program in the coming weeks. Autopilot is due to enter private preview by the end of September.
