Microsoft will pay US$6.2 billion to rent AI computing capacity in Norway from Nscale Global Holdings, a British data center operator, and Norwegian investment firm Aker ASA.

The companies said the project will use secured grid capacity and renewable energy.

Earlier this week, Microsoft also announced plans with Nscale to build a data center near London equipped with over 23,000 graphics processing units.
