Microsoft to open first Indonesia data center by Q2 2025
Microsoft plans to open its first data center in Indonesia, named the Indonesia Central Cloud Region, by the second quarter of 2025.
The facility, under construction since 2021, will be part of Microsoft’s global network of over 60 cloud regions.
It is expected to create over 106,000 jobs across manufacturing, finance, government, and communications.
The data center reinforces Microsoft’s commitment to cloud and AI development in Indonesia.
This is part of a US$1.7 billion investment announced in 2024 by chairman and CEO Satya Nadella.
