Microsoft and Nvidia will invest in Anthropic, with the AI startup set to spend US$30 billion on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform as part of the deal.

Nvidia is committing up to US$10 billion and Microsoft up to US$5 billion to Anthropic, according to the companies, though no timeline was disclosed.

Anthropic, based in the US, is known for developing the Claude AI system.

The agreement deepens ties between Microsoft, a major OpenAI backer, and Nvidia, a key supplier of AI chips, with one of OpenAI’s main competitors.
