Microsoft, Lumen expand partnership on enterprise AI networks
Lumen Technologies, a US-based network services company, and Microsoft said on November 2, that they had expanded their co-selling partnership to help enterprises connect the data, applications, and infrastructure used for AI workloads across Azure and other environments.
Lumen plans to bring its cloud networking and application connectivity products to Azure. The companies also said they will explore adding more Lumen offerings to Azure and Microsoft Marketplace.
The collaboration builds on an existing relationship. Lumen’s Private Connectivity Fabric supports Microsoft data center connectivity, while Azure supports Lumen’s workload modernization.
Existing marketplace listings show Lumen consulting services for Cloud Connect and ExpressRoute. Another listing is for Meter Powered by Lumen, which Lumen has described as a managed wide area network, local area network, and Wi-Fi service.
Lumen has also announced a new phase in its transformation. The Microsoft tie-up also aligns with a broader push for cloud connectivity, including Microsoft introducing Azure Multicloud Interconnect for Amazon Web Services.
