Microsoft beats Q1 estimates as cloud revenue jumps 30%

Microsoft said Microsoft Cloud revenue reached US$63.9 billion in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 30% year on year, as revenue and earnings beat expectations.

Revenue in Microsoft’s Agents and Infra segment rose 25% to US$76.8 billion.

Revenue in its Devices and Consumer segment fell 3% to US$15.5 billion.

Microsoft also said net gains from investments in OpenAI added US$207 million to net income.

The company returned US$10.2 billion to shareholders through dividends and buybacks during the quarter, the first quarter of fiscal 2027.

The results come as investors closely watch Microsoft’s AI spending and financial reporting after increased AI spending and unchanged capital expenditure guidance in a recent period.
