Microsoft announces $3b investment in India
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a US$3 billion investment to enhance India’s cloud and AI infrastructure, marking the company’s largest expansion in the country.
The investment will increase Microsoft’s Azure capacity in India.
Nadella noted that India has a growing number of developers, with 17 million active on GitHub and over 30,500 AI projects in development.
Additionally, Microsoft aims to train 10 million people in AI skills by 2030.
This will support the development of human capital in technology.
