Micron forecasts revenue above estimates on AI demand

Micron Technology, a Boise, Idaho-based memory chipmaker, forecast quarterly revenue above Wall Street estimates.

The company said customer commitments under long-term supply agreements rose to US$32 billion from US$22 billion, indicating continued demand for AI memory chips.

Micron said memory and storage supply-and-demand conditions are expected to be much tighter in fiscal 2027 and 2028 than in 2026.

It also said it has secured agreements for most of its fiscal 2027 high-bandwidth memory output.

Micron said remaining performance obligations under those supply agreements, a measure of future contracted revenue, increased to about US$150 billion from roughly US$100 billion in the prior quarter.

The company also reported fourth-quarter revenue and adjusted profit above analyst estimates.

Micron’s shares rose less than 1% in extended trading.
