Micron forecasts $12.5 billion in revenue on AI demand

Micron Technology expects revenue of about US$12.5 billion for its current quarter, above analyst forecasts of US$11.9 billion.

The US-based memory chip maker also projected profit of roughly US$3.75 per share, excluding some items, compared to analyst estimates of US$3.05.

Micron reported Q4 revenue of US$11.3 billion, up 46% year-on-year, and earnings of US$3.03 per share, both beating expectations.

The company cited strong demand for high-bandwidth memory chips used in AI systems as a key driver of growth.

Micron shares rose about 3% in after-hours trading following the announcement.

CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said the company saw record results in its data center business and expects continued momentum into the next fiscal year.

According to Citigroup analyst Christopher Danely, Micron’s data center segment now makes up more than half of its revenue.
