Micron Technology, a US-based memory and storage chipmaker, said on June 22 that it signed an agreement with Anthropic covering AI memory and storage architecture design, a supply agreement, Micron’s use of Claude, and an investment in Anthropic’s series H funding round.

The companies said they will study how memory and storage subsystems perform across Anthropic’s workloads and the broader infrastructure stack to improve AI system performance, energy efficiency, and token economics.

Micron also said it has deployed Claude for coding and more advanced agentic use cases across its engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise teams.

The agreement adds Micron to Anthropic’s existing Amazon Web Services infrastructure relationships.

Amazon has said Anthropic would secure up to 5 gigawatts of current and future Trainium chips and offer Claude on Amazon Web Services.

For Micron, the partnership aligns with its AI data-center products, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), and non-volatile memory express (NVMe) solid-state drives (SSDs) for training and inference.
