Meta unveils creator payment program for TikTok, YouTube users
Meta launched Creator Fast Track to lure creators from TikTok and YouTube to Facebook by offering guaranteed payments and boosted distribution.
The program pays US$1,000 a month to creators with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube and US$3,000 a month to those with over 1 million followers, and requires posting at least 15 Reels on Facebook within a 30-day period, posted on at least 10 different days.
Content does not need to be exclusive to Facebook, but must be original to the creator, including AI-generated content.
Meta said the guaranteed payments will only last three months, but Yair Livne, vice president of product for Facebook Creators, said creators will get access to Facebook’s Content Monetization program and will continue receiving a reach boost “in perpetuity.”
Meta paid nearly $3 billion to creators in 2025, up 35% year-on-year, with about 60% of that total going to Reels.
Facebook has more than 3 billion users, but has struggled to attract creators who favor TikTok and YouTube, and Meta said this program is a step to boost original content on the platform.
Meta is also adding new metrics to Facebook’s Content Monetization to show creators which views qualify for payout, their approximate earnings rate, and why certain views did not qualify, and Livne said the company wants creators to see Facebook as a necessary platform.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Meta is testing creator payments across its apps
- Creator Fast Track is part of a wider monetization test running across Meta’s family of apps 1.
- Meta is testing direct cash bonuses on Threads (Meta’s text-based social app) for creators whose posts meet eligibility thresholds. It is also running a separate “Spring Bonus” program on Instagram that pays creators for engagement on reels, photo carousels, and single-image posts 1.
- These payment programs tend to come and go. Meta ended a Reels bonus program in March 2023, then tried new incentives later, which suggests many of these efforts are short trials 1.
Guaranteed platform payouts could reshape brand and creator deals
- Creator Fast Track pays $1,000 to $3,000 per month, which gives creators steadier income than many brand sponsorships.
- The median payment for an influencer collaboration is $800, and 76% of creators earn below the average payment of $2,300 2.
- As Meta and X (formerly Twitter) pay creators through engagement-based programs, some creators may put more effort into platform-native posts than sponsored work 1.
- Brands may respond by raising marketing budgets or shifting rates toward mixed structures that blend flat fees with performance commissions to keep creator talent 2.
