Meta to invest over $600b in US AI infra by 2028
Meta said it plans to invest over US$600 billion in US infrastructure, including data centers for AI, by 2028.
Since 2010, its data center projects have supported more than 30,000 skilled trade jobs and 5,000 operational roles, and provided over US$20 billion in contracts to US-based subcontractors.
The company has also contributed to upgrading grid infrastructure and added 15 gigawatts of new energy to US power grids.
Meta said its data centers use less water than industry standards and aim to be water positive by 2030.
The company added that it continues to invest in local infrastructure and education in communities where it operates.
