Meta, Singapore police act against 3.7m scam-linked accounts
Meta and the Singapore Police Force said on September 23 that their information-sharing partnership led to action against more than 3.7 million scam-linked entities, Pages, and accounts on Facebook and Instagram in 2026.
From January to June, the Singapore Police Force referred more than 20,000 accounts, Pages, posts, and other content. Meta said the referrals helped it investigate related scam networks.
In the first half of 2026, Meta said it removed or restricted more than 113,000 entities and Pages.
It also took action against more than 33,600 entities in a June operation targeting investment scams, deceptive ecommerce scams, and other types of fraud.
In July, Meta said it removed more than 3.6 million dormant shell Pages before they were used in scam campaigns.
The Singapore Police Force said it will continue working with Meta and other online service providers to expand data sharing and strengthen scam-disruption efforts.
