Meta has announced Tuesday plans to manufacture its virtual reality headset, the Quest 3S, in Vietnam starting in 2025, which is expected to create around 1,000 jobs.

Recent discussions between Meta executives, including Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, suggest a closer collaboration with the Vietnamese government.

During these discussions, the Vietnamese government also requested that Meta collaborate with local authorities to tackle misinformation and comply with local laws.

With 75 million Facebook users, Vietnam ranks among the platform’s largest global markets.
