Meta launches Seller app for Facebook Marketplace
Meta launched Seller on July 24, a standalone app for Facebook Marketplace sellers in the US.
The app expands Marketplace tools, where 430 million items are listed globally each month, as Meta competes more directly with ecommerce platform eBay.
Seller syncs with existing Marketplace accounts, so current listings, messages, and sales history carry over.
It also adds AI tools for creating listings, a unified inbox for buyer messages, inventory management, and performance insights.
Before Seller, users managed Marketplace sales inside Facebook.
The company said users can still sell directly on Marketplace without using the new app.
Meta said Seller is available on the App Store for users in the US aged 18 and older.
A web version is being tested for people who download the app.
Meta also introduced a free Facebook Verified badge, which uses selfie-based checks to show that a real person is behind a profile.
