Meta said on July 10 that it is discontinuing an AI feature that let users generate images from public Instagram accounts.

The company removed the tool days after its rollout following user feedback.

Meta said the feature was meant to be a creative tool and included controls for whether a person’s public Instagram content could be referenced.

The company added that the feature “missed the mark” and is no longer available.
