Meta Platforms Inc. has banned several accounts on Threads and Instagram that tracked the private jets of high-profile individuals, including Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

The action comes after a privacy policy update aligned with the Oversight Board’s recommendation to remove certain private information, even if publicly available.

The banned accounts provided information on jet locations and CO2 emissions, affecting trackers of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jeff Bezos.

Jack Sweeney, operator of many affected accounts, stated he was not informed by Meta before the bans. He also noted a lack of transparency.
