Meta AI app parental supervision now available worldwide
Meta said parental supervision in its standalone Meta AI app is now available worldwide.
Parents and guardians can see the topics their teens asked Meta AI about over the past seven days, but not the conversations themselves.
They can also switch from the default 13+ setting to the more restrictive Limited Content setting.
Supervision can be enabled in the app or through Family Center.
Meta said its existing safeguards for teen users include declining certain questions or directing teens to resources.
Meta introduced these topic insights in April 2026 for supervised Teen Accounts on Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, starting in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, and Brazil.
Meta launched the standalone app on April 29, 2025.
An industry self-regulation overview said regulators are beginning to shape rules for AI chatbots.
OpenAI announced parental controls in September 2025 and launched a teen-focused ChatGPT version in August 2026.
