Meta is adding a clearer safety warning in Muse, its AI agent for tasks such as shopping, travel booking, emailing, and payments, after an outside researcher found a vulnerability that could have let an attacker access a user’s dedicated virtual machine.

That cloud-based account could contain sensitive information, including emails and files, according to a report.

According to the report, the issue was disclosed through Meta’s bug bounty program, had not been previously disclosed, and Meta internally classified it as “SEV-2,” its third-highest severity level on a five-point scale.

Muse launched earlier this month and topped free app charts in the US and Canada. Market intelligence firm Sensor Tower estimated about 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks.
