Meng Wanzhou resumes Huawei chairmanship

Huawei Technologies confirms that Meng Wanzhou has resumed her role as rotating chairwoman for a six-month term, ending 31 March next year, according to a Monday statement from the company.

Meng, 52, will oversee Huawei’s board of directors and executive committee.

During her term, Meng will also oversee the launch of Huawei’s Mate 70 series 5G smartphones, expected in the fourth quarter of this year.

Meng returned to China after nearly three years of house arrest in Canada, ending in September 2021.
