Maverick leads $85m round for US AI startup SiMa.ai
SiMa.ai has raised US$85 million in a new funding round led by Maverick Capital, bringing its total funding to US$355 million.
StepStone Group joined as a new investor, along with participation from existing backers.
The San Jose-based company develops hardware and software platforms for AI applications at the edge.
The funds will support global expansion and further development of its physical AI platform, designed for robotics, automotive, industrial automation, aerospace, and healthcare.
SiMa.ai’s platform includes purpose-built silicon and software tools for deploying AI models in real-world applications.
Its Modalix platform and software suite support various machine learning frameworks and offer increased power efficiency.
