Mastercard, WEX to launch fleet payments network in APAC
Mastercard and WEX, a US-based business payments provider focused on fleet, travel, and corporate payments, said on October 12 that they plan to launch a fleet payments network in Asia Pacific.
The system would combine fuel, maintenance, tolls, parking, and other vehicle-related expenses in one platform, replacing fragmented payment tools.
The companies said the product would be Asia Pacific’s first unified fleet payments network.
They cited estimates that Asia Pacific fleet card transaction volumes reached about US$310 billion in 2025 and made up 31% of the global total.
The planned system is intended to give fleet operators spending controls and line-item data. It would also let businesses manage fuel-powered, hybrid, and electric vehicles under one account with one consolidated invoice.
The announcement adds to Mastercard’s broader fleet push in the region, where it has also launched solutions for fleet customers.
