Ilya Lichtenstein has received a five-year prison sentence for his role in laundering money linked to the 2016 Bitfinex hack, involving the theft of approximately 120,000 bitcoin from the cryptocurrency exchange.

In addition to the prison term, Lichtenstein will face three years of supervised release.
