Malaysia’s Proton launches country’s first EV
Malaysia’s Proton has launched its e.Mas 7 model, becoming the first carmaker to enter the country’s EV market.
Proton plans to export e.Mas 7 to several countries starting in 2025.
The vehicle – available in two types: Prime and Premium – is priced from 109,800 ringgit (around US$24,500). Proton partners with Chinese automaker Geely to develop the model.
It offers various range options, up to 345 km for the Prime version and 410 km for the Premium variant.
