Malaysian fintech firm Ascertain eyes regional expansion
Ascertain Group of Companies, a Malaysia-based fintech and payments infrastructure provider, said it planned to expand into Indonesia, Oman, and India.
The regional expansion will be executed through strategic partnerships with PT Praisindo Teknologi, Grand Group, and Ideassion Group.
The company said it would use a partner-led model rather than direct market entry.
These solutions are designed to support traditional banks, digital banks, and payment institutions.
Ascertain, which said it was founded in 2008, added that it had supported more than 10 financial institutions and 500 businesses globally, and processed more than 1 billion payment transactions a year.
In Indonesia, the strategy could also fit rules that require Indonesian parties to hold at least 51% of voting shares in payment service providers. The country’s digital payment value is projected to rise to 156.4 trillion rupiah (US$8.76 billion) in 2026.
