MakeMyTrip buys majority stake in Quick Ride to expand mobility

India-based online travel company MakeMyTrip said it bought a majority stake in Bengaluru-based Quick Ride, a shared mobility platform focused on ride pooling, for an undisclosed sum. The deal marks MakeMyTrip’s entry into shared mobility.

The acquisition covers the Quick Ride brand and its ride pooling business, which were restructured into Co Ride Mobility Private Limited.

MakeMyTrip bought a majority stake in that entity, while Quick Ride’s promoters will continue to lead the business.

Quick Ride’s electric vehicle taxi business is not part of the deal and will remain with predecessor entity iDisha Info Labs Private Limited.

The acquisition expands MakeMyTrip’s ground transport offerings, which already include cab bookings and bus tickets, alongside flights, hotels, and holiday services.

Quick Ride’s website describes the platform as a commuting-focused service offering carpool and bikepool options.
