  • Each firm is building gigawatt-scale facilities near renewable projects, which can lower reliance on costly grid electricity 1.
  • Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani said the plan is to bring down AI service prices, similar to how Jio lowered mobile data costs in India 2.
  • India still lacks meaningful chip manufacturing, so renewables-backed data centers are seen as one of the clearest routes to competing in global AI 3.

The Pax Silica agreement ties India’s AI plans to shifting geopolitics

  • The Pax Silica agreement is a U.S.-led effort to secure the global silicon supply chain across steps from critical minerals to AI infrastructure 4.
